Lois B. Underhill/The Many Lives of Victoria Woodhull
Number of pages:
8
ABSTRACT:
An 8 page analysis of Underhill's biography of the most controversial American woman of the nineteenth century, Victoria Woodhull-- the first woman to address Congress, the first to run for president of the United States, and one of the first women to originate and run her own weekly newspaper. Woodhull and her sister, Tennie, were the first women stockbrokers on Wall Street. Freethinking and incredibly independent, Woodhull was at least a century ahead of her time.
